‘Diamonds' is English singer Sam Smith's second official release, taken from their forthcoming third studio album, Love Goes. The positive album, Follows the first single “My Oasis” with Burna Boy in July 2020.
Smith took to social media along with the release of the record, to confirm the new release date of their third studio album, as well as the new cover art, tracklist, and cover art.
Sam wrote:
The last two years have been the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically. Every time I went into the studio I promised myself I would shoot for the stars and have no limitations.
Diamonds “is a fast-tempo electro-pop production with a solid rhythm, in a minor key, and Sam's style marks a new departure.” Many of their songs are autobiographical, but with “Diamonds” Sam hasn't stated if this is the case.
The song was described by Billboard Magazine as a ‘heartbreaking track, juxtaposed with a deliciously synth-y beat.'
